And so the Summer begins...

We have commenced our Summer activities...finally!  (Dang Utah weather, yes I used the word dang!)  Here are some pics from our trip to the Community Pool and Yogurtland!  Also, that's David with Daniel!  They are best buds!

Dinner Pics

Daniel and I have been trying to eat at new places and when we eat somewhere we have been before, we've been trying to eat new things.  Although, sometimes you just need a little comfort food.  Anyways, we went to Sammy's off of Center Street in Provo and it was scrumptious!

We loved our meal and those batter-dipped french fries were super tasty!

Tonight we took a stroll down Center Street with Sione, Lorien and baby Inoke.  We stopped at a new place called Station 22, YUMMY!  Also, we really liked the look and feel of the Cafe...

It's always good to try something new!  Plus we got to fulfill our daily challenge over at Live My Life Project...walk, walk, walk!

Daniel's final recital was Friday.  It was so fun to see him up on the big stage!  I was such a proud mama! Thanks to Sione, Lo, Inoke and Melanie for coming out to see him!

T.G.I.F.

It's been such a great day!  It started this morning with breakfast at Einstein Bagels...yum!

Daniel insisted on a plain bagel toasted with plain cream cheese...boring!  :)  I got the lox on an everything bagel...delish!

Then it was off to work and school.  Today was my first full Friday in a long while...ugh!  It was definitely hard, thank goodness I have such an AWESOME staff to keep me entertained and who are always willing to listen to my zany stories.

What a messy desk!  I know...no big surprise!  At 4:30, Mileah dropped Daniel off at work so that I could take him up to the 4th floor to meet his new cousin!  Inoke Vincent Asisi!  Congrats to Sione and Lo, they are naturals!!!  Welcome to the world Inoke!

Sledding in the Spring?!?!?!

Last week, the temperatures at reached the high 50's.  It felt so good to feel your body and the Earth thawing out.  Only to wake up Friday morning to a TON of snow.  Rather then get too bummed out, Daniel and I tried to make the best of it.  After I got out of class, we decided to eat somewhere we have never eaten before.  We ended up at Smashburger.  I got the Baja Burger w/ sweet potato fries...YUM!!!  And Daniel got a plain cheeseburger well done...boring!

After lunch, we came home and got ready to go sledding at Rock Canyon Park!  So much fun!  Daniel invited his buddy David and they were having a blast.  It got hard though, climbing up the hill and after a while they were pooped!  So off to Denny's for a warm cup of cocoa.  It was a great day snowy Spring day!



Blinkenstaff's

What a fun night!  Daniel and I met up with Mileah and her husband Todd for dinner at Tucanos.  They are such a CUTE couple!  Thanks guys for hanging out with us!  Before we met up with them though, we stopped at Blinkenstaff's for some toys and treats!!  What a fun store!  If you haven't been, your missing out...really!

I didn't know what a lot of these candies were.  Do you guys recognize any of these?  Any recommendations?

To keep my head from exploding...

I'm resorting to See's Candy, Justin Timberlake and Peppermint Foot Lotion!!!  I've gotten myself so far behind in my readings!!!  I have eight chapters of Business Law to read, four chapters of Human Resource Management, two chapters of Marketing and one chapter of Organizational Behavior.  Shoot me NOW!!!  I thought I'd take a mental break to vent on my blog!  Thanks for lending a listening ear!  Back to my hectic studies! 

Oh and isn't this the cutest picture of Daniel?  I let him stay up to watch Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam and he only made it 20 minutes before he was OUT!!  :)

Pluots

Have you ever heard of a Pluot?  While we were in San Diego, my Mom took us to a store called Sprouts and we saw them for the first time there.  I found them so intruiguing I had to get some.

Pluots are a hybrid cross between a Plum and an Apricot.  Although, the skin and the pit more resemble a plum over an apricot. 

But the sweet mixture of flavors was something I couldn't quite describe, in fact it has a taste that is somewhat it's own. You can taste a bit of plum and a bit of apricot and yet, it is it's own taste.  So hard to describe!!  Daniel and I both loved them and were so excited to see them in the stores in Utah!  They are only in season through the end of September, so don't miss out of them!

San Diego: Road Trip

I think the only way I'm going to blog about this trip, will be to break it up into the most memorable bits.  So I'll start at the beginning!  (I now have the Sound of Music song Do-Re-Mi going through my head, "Let's start at the very beginning...")  We left at 5:00 am Wednesday morning, now mind you I had hoped to leave by 4:00 am.  However, I didn't get the packing completed until the night before and didn't go to sleep until 11:30.  So I was exhausted.  Anyways, we left and made it all the way to Beaver before we stopped for a bathroom break (my bladder could only hold so much Diet Coke).  Next stop was St. George's Jack in the Box for some Sausage Croissant Sandwiches, YUM!!!  After that stop, I had pushed through passed Vegas and stopped in Primm.  Now Daniel slept from St. George to Primm and with the little sleep I had, I was having a BEAST of a time staying awake.  So I stopped in Primm, filled up the tank w/ gas, found a shady spot and napped with Daniel.  I slept for about 45 minutes and when I woke up Daniel was up watching Nacho Libre on my phone.  :)

Have you ever been to Primm?  What a funny little town!  It's in the middle of nowhere, but it has about three or four casino/hotels and these amazing outlet stores (Coach, Juicy Couture and Sephora).  After Primm, we decided that we would make one more stop, but I wasn't sure where I wanted to stop.  Well, we started seeing signs for Peggy Sue's Diner.  I hadn't heard about it and we were hungry so we stopped and BOY what a treasure!!!  This place has been open for 47 years and the walls are lined with ol' movie stars that have eaten there.

We loved it!!  The food was great, the music was great and Daniel couldn't get enough of the fries dipped in brown gravy.  We loved it so much actually that we stopped there on our way home for breakfast!  Mind you it was the best busicuit and gravy breakfast I have ever had. 

The drive home was the WORST; I hated the fact that I had to leave and yet I couldn't wait to get home and get out of the car.  Daniel was GREAT in the car; I packed him a new Scooby Doo Leap Frog Book, some toys, paper & crayons and LOTS of treats.  He slept an average of four hours there and four hours on the way back.  He would make these adorable sleeping arrangements with his seatbelt, pillow and blanket.  I can't believe I didn't pull over to get a picture of it.  Anyways, I'm glad we drove it was a fun trip.

The Great Swell

I know that I've raved about The Swell Season before, but after seeing them in concert again last Sunday I can't help myself.  THEY ARE AMAZING and are most definitely one of my favorite bands!!!!  Okay first off, I went with my buddy Melanie and before we left for the concert we stopped for dinner at The Corner Bakery Cafe.  YUM!!!

After dinner we went to see The Swell Season at the Red Butte Gardens and it was fantastic.  It was awesome to see their fan base grow over the last three years in Utah.  They went from performing at The Depot for a couple hundred to The Rose Wagner for 400 people and then to the Red Butte Gardens for 3,000 people.  They are amazing and are totally deserving of the fame.  They are one of those bands who sound amazing on the record, but sound EVEN better live.  Goosebumps, I get goosebumps when ever I see them live.  There are no words.

The next time they are in town, swear to me that you will go to see them.  You won't be disappointed!  I promise!

Provo Farmer's Market

I love the weekends and I love Farmer's Markets. 

I finished my Microeconomics class on Friday and I have to say that one of the biggest impressions I walked away with was how important it is that we support our local businesses.  Places like the Provo Farmer's Market and our local restaurants!  Anyways, we had a good morning supporting our local businesses.  First stop, the Provo Farmer's Market:

Yum!  We got fresh Asiago Bread, Raspberries (from Bear Lake of course), zucchini, cantaloupe and a banana smoothie while we were there to share!

We also stopped by the Lobendahn's booth where Ari got a cute little Strawberry Shortcake bag and Daniel got a Tiki Pendant.  Although, he wasn't about to wear it...apparently only girls wear necklaces.  *rolling eyes*

It started to get pretty warm and the smoothie wasn't helping much, so we headed over to Nate's Diner in Provo.  Again, I must say...YUM!!!!  They make their french fries from scratch.  Also, I love that diner feel, reminds me of Jersey.

This kid has a permanent cowlick!  Do you see it?  :)
