Potato Bowl Fun

Now, when I heard we were going to be heading to Boise to watch my brother play in a bowl game I remember being excited for a little vacation and being excited to see Naki play.  However, I do remember thinking, "Boise...how much fun can that little city really be?"  Well, surprise, surprise...it IS a fun little city.  Although we sadly did not win against Ohio, we had a blast.  Here are some iPhone pics from our trip...because, YES, I forgot to bring batteries for my camera.

Haha, one of my managers made this Prep Kit for me.  Those are real Idaho potatoes.  HAHA!

We got to watch both of the teams warm up, which was real interesting.  Also, how GREAT were our seats.

The Asisi's are Heading to Idaho

That's right!!  Utah State University accepted an invitation to play for the Idaho Potato Bowl.  This is so exciting, considering it's the first bowl game since 1997!!!  AND it's going to be my little brothers first and only chance to play in a bowl game.  I am so proud of that kid!  Check out the story in the Salt Lake Tribune here...STORY!!!

Last Home Game

It was a beautiful day, cold but beautiful.  Daniel and I drove up to Logan for the last home game of the season and Naki's last home game ever.  It's was most definitely bitter sweet to see Naki take the field for the last time.  It was a day of lasts in a way, which made me tear up several times.  I would like to take this moment though and tell Naki just how proud I am of him.  He has worked so hard these last five years, he's grown and matured in so many ways.  I have been honored with the privilege of supporting him along this journey and I've appreciated every moment of it.  Naki you are an inspiration to me in so many ways and I'm so proud to be your big sis.  I love you buddy!

Here are some pics from our lovely day and click here to see some of my Aggie posts throughout the year.
The kiddies watching Uncle Naki warm up before the game.

The team lined up on the field and cheered the seniors out onto the field.  I won't lie, I totally started crying at this point.  Mom, Dad and Lindsie were at the end of the line up to meet Naki.

Dad, trying to stay warm.  :)

Fia and Scott; Fia made over 20 candy lei's for Naki.  Amazing!

Lua, Lorien and baby Inoke, hamming it up for the camera.

Sione, king of Hot Cocoa.  It was especially delicious this time.

Cute Grandma in her Aggie blue.  :)

The whole team after the win.  Yes, I started crying again.

All six of us crazy siblings.  We're soooo old!

Naki and the sisters.

Naki and the ladies!

Daniel and Ari joking around on the car ride home.

Here I am crying again.  This was really the perfect ending to an amazing chapter of our lives.  Go Aggies!

Do you feel it?

Do you feel it?

The build up of excitement, the hum of stadium lights, the locker room prayers, the stomping of feet, clapping of hands, roars of fans...

FOOTBALL SEASON IS HERE!

Oh this is my favorite time of year!  And football is my favorite all time sport.  I'm so excited for it all!!  This last Saturday, I got to cheer on two awesome people.  First off, Mr. D, Dan the Man, Lightning Dan...played a great game of flag football.  He captured two flags and ran in an extra point.  I was such a proud mama.  Go Green Hornets!

Then it was a quick wardrobe change and we were off to Logan to watch Uncle Naki play against Weber.  Woo, talk about a great game.  Uncle Naki is out with a small injury, but the team did great and we were so excited to go and show our support!  USU 54 vs Weber 17, Go AGGIES!!!

Go, Fight, WIN!!!

We had the most amazing weekend!!!  It started Thursday night when we went to pick up my Mom from the airport and then visit my new little nephew, Clayton John Eyre!  He is so stinkin' adorable, he makes my cheeks hurt from smiling so much!!  Oh man, he is the cutest!!!

Then Friday after work and school, Daniel and I headed out to Logan with my parents.  I love driving through Sardine canyon in the Fall, it really is the BEST.  The fall colors seem so vivid, as if you were looking at a hand painted canvas.

After driving through what seemed to be a never ending traffic jam...

...we made it to the beautiful Logan.

Where USU played against BYU.  A team they have been unable to beat in seventeen years / ten games.  UGH!!  It was a beautiful day for a game and we were all hoping for a win.  Not only for USU and Naki's sake, but for the much needed bragging rights!!

WE WON!!!!  31 to 16, it was the BEST!!!!  Oh my gosh, it was the best feeling ever!  The USU students flooded the field after the game and it gave me goosebumps!!!

Saturday night we decided to extend the joy and through a victory party for Naki!  We had tons of food, watched highlights from the game and let the kids play till they passed out!

Like I said it was an amazing weekend!!!

*I'm so bugged, because I have more pictures, but I can't get them to load correctly.  Anyone know how to rotate the photos in the new blogger image upload?

Oh my goodness, I can't get over what an inspiration my little brother is!

He inspires me to not settle for mediocre.
He inspires me to follow my dreams and to not let anything stand in my way!
He inspires me to recognize my situation as what it truly is, a fleeting trial, that may be insignificant to what someone else is going through.
He inspires me to persevere when things get hard!

I am so proud of him and I can't wait to see Utah State beat BYU tonight!

  • Daniel had a flag football game this Saturday.  He does such a good job!  Did I tell you guys that his team is called The Blue Cheese and that they call Daniel, THUNDER DAN?  LOL!  Love it!
  • Uncle Naki also had a football game.  USU lost, but Uncle Naki did a good job!!
  • Olivia and I threw the dopest bachelorette party EVER for our friend Allison who gets married next week!  There was a photo booth, tons of food and LOTS of dancing!!!
  • Daniel and I had a slightly lazy Sunday, which was nice.
This weekend was full of lovely people!  You know the kind of people that make you happy, who have a quiet confidence, who bring light to the party, who seem to just stand out!!!  Anyways, it was because of these people that Daniel and I had such a LOVELY weekend.  So thank you lovely people!

I am working on being one of those people, I've got a ways to go!

I want to be ...

Daniel: I want to be a football player when I grow up.
Me: Really, that is great. I think you'll be a great football player.
Daniel: As good as Naki?
Me: Absolutely, maybe even better!
Daniel: Mommy, that's not nice!
Me: What's not nice?
Daniel: Maybe is a bad word!
Me: Huh? No it's not!
Daniel: Oh, that's not what I mean?
Me: Then what do you mean?
Daniel: I want to be Iron Man when I grow up. Silly me, I forgot!
Me: *completely dazed and confused*

USU MVP #76

What a fabulous weekend! Other than my annoying cold, you know the ones that you think you have gotten rid of and then it pops back up at the most inconvenient time! I headed up to Logan with the family to watch Naki start in the USU vs. Fresno game! We did some fun shopping at an adorable honey shop called Cox Honeyland, on our way up. I got some yummy fudge and a fun Halloween platter. On our way to the game Daniel and I were practicing our "Go NAKI" cheers!

It was such a great game! Naki did such a wonderful job, we were so proud of him. They were robbed right at the end, it was devastating, but that doesn't take away from the wonderful job that he did. He was even mentioned in the Deseret News this morning! Click here to read the article!

Here are some pictures from the game!
