USU MVP #76

What a fabulous weekend! Other than my annoying cold, you know the ones that you think you have gotten rid of and then it pops back up at the most inconvenient time! I headed up to Logan with the family to watch Naki start in the USU vs. Fresno game! We did some fun shopping at an adorable honey shop called Cox Honeyland, on our way up. I got some yummy fudge and a fun Halloween platter. On our way to the game Daniel and I were practicing our "Go NAKI" cheers!

It was such a great game! Naki did such a wonderful job, we were so proud of him. They were robbed right at the end, it was devastating, but that doesn't take away from the wonderful job that he did. He was even mentioned in the Deseret News this morning! Click here to read the article!

Here are some pictures from the game!

Sparkling Pink Footballs

Before I left for my trip to Vegas, I took Daniel to Color Me Mine for some painting fun. I had promised the kid that we would paint a piggy bank for all of his change around the same time that John got married and kept putting it off. So when the day came, I wasn't about to stand in the way of his fun! When we got there, there was quite a selection of banks! He chose the football bank with no persuasion from me. YAY!! We got our table all set up and went to the wall of colored tiles to pick our colors. Daniel wanted Pink, Red and Sparkle Blue!!! I was a bit mortified when he painted the entire football pink, I kept asking him if he wanted to use some more of the red or blue, but he just wanted more pink!! Who am I to get in the way of his creative genius anyways, right?!?

So as we were getting to the end of his art project, I had to explain to him that his football would be staying there for a couple of nights and we would come back to get his football. This is when his temper tantrum ensued! He sat underneath the table, didn't say a word and didn't budge! If I wasn't so bugged, I would've gotten a picture for you all to see! After all the drama and fun; we went back Monday night and got his football bank. It now resides next to his bed with lots of change in it. He is too cute! I LOVE THAT KID!

THROW YOUR HANDS UP!

Everybody say YEAH!!!
Everybody say HELL YEAH!!
Now everybody SCREAM!!!

MY throat is so sore! I screamed my lungs out, I absolutely LOVED our short trip to Las Vegas! We started the trip with some breakfast at the Asisi house, then we talked and sang the whole way to Vegas! Here are some of our favorites from the trip!

When we got to Las Vegas we grabbed some In-N-Out Burgers and checked into the Alexis Park Hotel. After we ate our delicous grub we headed to the pool. It was so relaxing, exactly what we each needed. After the pool, we went to dinner at Cozumel's Mexican Restaurant!

The JT concert was at the Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino. There were so many people there, from all walks of life and all ages!

I don't feel like you would believe me when I tell you who performed, but here you go: The Jonas Brothers, STOMP, Leona Lewis, Boys II Men, Rihanna, Will I Am, Adam Levine, 50 Cent, Lionel Richie and of course JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE!

Justin announced during the concert that he will be back in Vegas, "same time, same place!" So we will be going again for sure with a few more buddies I'm thinking! What a great trip, what an AMAZING CONCERT!!!!

Worst

My good friend Heidi Smith got me hooked on the word "WORST". I would say this word in almost every situation. For example a friend would tell me that her boss was making her assume the housekeeping responsibilities while they interviewed possible replacements, my response would be, "WORST!" Or say you open a piece of mail that looks like it may be a check. You know, the ones that have the perferated edges and you can't help but wonder, "Did I over pay on a bill and they are sending me a refund?" Only to find a Past Due Notice or an advertisement for a new phone service. That would warrant a "WORST" I bring this up only because lately, I have been saying it a lot and I just needed to vent. Plus it's my blog and I can write whatever I want to on it!

I got paid on Friday and it's already gone to bills, "WORST!!"
I went to get Daniel a library card and apparently I never returned a book about three years ago, so I have an outstanding fine of $55.00 and you can't get a library card until you have paid it down to $10.00, "WORST!!"
The diet I have been on since September 12th has shown only a 1.5 pound weight loss, "WORST!!"
There is a horribly painful blind pimple coming in on my nose, "WORST!!"
I quit my job at the hotel and my former boss left the ugliest message on my voice mail, "WORST!!"
I asked my boss for the raise he promised me and he said I'd have to wait to receive the annual raise and maybe he could work something out for next year, "WORST!!"

I could go on, but you get the jist and I feel better having got it out into the open! Now that it's said, I can't help but share with you my "BEST" moments. Because truly it's not all negative and I believe that for every sad or "WORST" moment there are two "BEST" moments that follow.

The move in date for the UVOC building has not changed. Which means I'm coming into some MAJOR overtime, "BEST!!"
Daniel loves books and loves me, "BEST!!"
I set my weight loss goals for the next month and am determined to come out a champion at my next monthly meeting, "BEST!!" YAY for determination!
I have had some GREAT hair days lately, "BEST!!"
I no longer have to work at the hotel, "BEST!!" SCREW YOU IVANA!
I will most likely get an Exceeds on my yearly evaluation, "BEST!!" Hard work doesn't go unnoticed!
I'm going to VEGAS on Friday to see JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE with some of my best friends, double "BEST!!"
I have a new little niece, "BEST!"
And despite all my bitching and moaning, I AM HAPPY!! "BEST!!"

Feel free to share a "WORST" moment! Or a "BEST!" Or both!

Why Vote?

Alright, are you ready for this? This is why I think you would be DUMB not to register and vote in this upcoming election!!! Because your vote DOES count!!! When combined with all of the other people who feel exactly like you do, it counts! Even if you didn't care for either candidate, express your frustration to your leaders by voting for the effing Easter Bunny!

Because we all know someone, who doesn't have the right to vote (my family in Tonga are governed by a King who doesn't care! If they could vote, they would.)

Because our country needs change!

Because we are the chosen generation, the generation that our parents', parents', parents', parents' fought for! They made sure that we could one day stand at the poll and vote for what we believe in!

Because if you don't vote, you are being lazy!

Because the time it would take you to read up on your candidates and make an informed decision is equal to the time you would spend watching ABC TV on a Thursday night (Ugly Betty, Grey's Anatomy, news)!!

Because if you don't care about this country, why should it care for you????

Vote! It's easy, it's smart and it's the right thing to do!!! www.maps.google.com/vote
Democratic Party Presidential Candidate Barack Obama
Republican Party Presidential Candidate John McCain
