It could be worse!

I love those AHA Moments. Moments in my life where everything just CLICKS. Today was not my best day. Everything that could go wrong seemed to do exactly that! They were all little things, sort of, but enough to just throw me off of my game. I had a slight car accident (don't ask, it's embarrassing), I ran out of allergy medicine, my contacts had dried up because it had been so long since I've worn them, my tire light came on (low air pressure), work was stressful, school was stressful, I couldn't take Daniel to school, and the list goes on!!!!!!

While stuck in afternoon traffic, I couldn't help but wonder what I had done to deserve the day I was having. Could it be because I didn't go to church yesterday? Was it because, things can't always be good and I just needed a bad day to appreciate the good? In the midst of my absolute self pitying, I passed a young girl pulled over on the side of the road. Her car hood was up and she was crying into a phone.

Are you ready for it;

AHA MOMENT!!! IT COULD BE SO MUCH WORSE!!!

Though my heart went out to the young lady, I couldn't help but think that life could be worse. All the little things that happened today were just that, LITTLE THINGS!!! I could get past these little things and in two weeks, the events of today would be nothing but a small memory. My car could have wrecked, I could have gotten hurt, I could be without a job, without family, without friends, etc.

Driving past the young lady, I couldn't help but scream at the top of my lungs, IT COULD BE WORSE!!!! Once I had yelled it, I was able to move forward. I was okay, my life IS okay! It could be worse.

So to the sweet, young girl on the side of the road, though your day was crappy and your car decided to die on you, in the middle of afternoon traffic, on the highway. I share with you my simple response...it could be worse!
I typed the words "aha moment" into the flickr search engine and found this picture taken by Andrea Buzzichelli

So Awesome!

13,500 people showed up to Trafalgar Square, were handed mics and began a sing a long. The most awesome sight! I wish I could've been there. Inspiring, beautiful and GREAT people watching. I can't help but wonder, why we aren't coming together more often to celebrate life and the joy of music. Hmmm...

25 Random Things About ME :)

1. I wear a size 12 shoe. Buying shoes is impossible, I have to buy online or at Payless.

2. I sing and dance like a mad woman in my car. The worst bit, is that my car windows aren't tinted so I'm giving everyone at the stoplight a show! I can't help it though, the music moves me.

3. I believe that I am the smartest driver in the world and everyone else sucks. I have the worst road rage imaginable.

4. I love pulling silly faces in pictures! Even more, I love to get people to do it with me! LOL!

5. I have tried to quit caffiene four times in my life, the longest I lasted was a year and a half. That's only because I was on my mission.

6. I believe that there is a "ONE"! One person out there, that I'm meant to spend the rest of my life with. One person who completes ME!

7. I hope to one day own my own cafe or bed and breakfast. I believe that my current career path is all a means to one day fulfill this dream.

8. I get home sick for Jersey, on a regular basis. I miss the city and the friends I left there.

9. I can't stand it when people compliment my looks. I never know what to say! I know I'm being rude when I don't except the compliment and yet when I do accept it I feel like I'm lying. I'd rather people compliment my accomplishments and deeds, those mean the most.

10. I cherish knowing that I am a daughter of God and that there is in fact a God who watches over me. I'm not the most religious person, but this fact brings me comfort!

11. I knew I was supposed to be Daniel's mother the day I met him. But it took me six months to accept it. Once I did, my life took a road that has brought me the greatest joy I could possibly imagine. I am so thankful I get to be his mommy! I love him so much.

12. I secretly wish I could be a Pussycat Doll! I think they are AWESOME.

13. I am addicted to www.perezhilton.com!! At nights, I will read up on all the celebrity gossip for hours.

14. I dream about winning the jackpot in Vegas and then I dream about how I would spend it.

15. I have the worst gag reflexes! If I see, hear or smell someones throw up, I'm gagging. If I have to get my throat swabbed, I'm gagging. When I brush my tongue, I'm gagging. It's ridiculous!

16. I can't stand to see people bite ice or popsicles. I get goosebumps and intense chills up my back! Just the thought of it gives me goosebumps.

17. It's been about 12 years since I graduated from high school and I still dislike Timpview immensly. I'm a Bulldog through and through.

18. I love my birthday! My birthday celebrations last for a couple of weeks. Although I am dreading the fact that I turn 30 this year, I can't wait to celebrate it!! The cake just might have to say 29 for one more year.

19. I hate cats. I think they are slightly evil and totally disgusting. I stopped talking to a guy who told me that he had cats at home. I walked away when he told me that there was nothing better than coming home to his cat, picking it up and feeling it purr! SICK!!

20. I am deathly afraid of frogs and rodents. I will seriously freeze up and start crying when I see one.

21. I love school. I love taking notes, listening to lectures, writing papers and taking tests. I'm excited to go back this fall!

22. I hate it when people cry on reality tv. For example: When someone gets sent home on the Bachelor. I can't watch it, I have to turn the channel.

23. My favorite foods are pizza, pasta and mashed potatoes. Also known as: carbs, carbs and more carbs.

24. I love to read! I carry a book with me every where I go. There is one in my car and one in my desk at work, just in case I don't have one in my bag. I love to read on my lunch break and I love to read before bed! My ideal vacation would be laying out near a body of water with a good book!!

25. I think I'm funny. Like HBO special funny! I really think that I could put a good routine together and take it on the road. LOL! I do!

The Little Prince

Daniel and I have been reading The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint Exupery. What a beautiful story! I remember watching the cartoon growing up, but I didn't read the book till I was on my mission. I know that the concepts of the book are way too advanced for Mr. D, but the story is special non the less. One of my favorite sayings in the book is, "The essential things in life are not seen with the eyes, but with the heart." How as adults we forget to close our eyes "logical minds" and focus on what the heart can see. Or in other words seeing things as a child sees them. It's poignant and lovely!

Another important book the last few weeks is one I'm studying at work, Crucial Conversations; Tools for Talking When Stakes are High by Kerry Patterson, Joseph Grenny, Al Switzler and Ron McMillan. This book has enlightened me to the way I approach difficult conversations. It covers Left Column Conversations, Starting with the Heart, Making it Safe and so much more. I have been able to use these tools not only at work, but in my personal life. Such a powerful book! I am LOVING it and highly recommend it.

What books are you READING???

It's been too long!!!

I know I haven't posted anything! It stems from the lack of a camera and depression that ensues from not having money to buy a new one! UGH!!! It will be my birthday gift to myself, for I so love posting pictures to my blog.

These are the pictures I would have posted, if my dang camera was working!!!

1 - Daniel's mohawk/fohawk. I'm not quite sure what to call it, but it's cool!!
2 - I caught Daniel standing in front of his drawers, naked except for a Scion hat on, trying to decide what he was going to where. ADORABLE!!
3 - Pictures from Bear Lake, if I had any!!! Fia and Vita, come on and send them already!!!
4 - My cute hairdo, thanks Allison! I LOVE MY HAIR!!
5 - The awesome gift I got from my coworkers! They love me, they really love me!
6 - The fireworks that Daniel and I lit off for the 24th of July!
7 - John in the hospital, looking sad! :( He's all better now! :)
8 - The art walk with Peggy, Cheryl and Melanie! More importantly, our brief stop at the Tavernacle. Woo, woo!
9 - Dinner with Allison and Daniel! He of course wanted to sit next to her. Mom's just not cool enough I guess.
10 - Our ornery waiter at Saigon Cafe! The guy hates his job, but what do you do when your family owns the business and won't pay for real waiters!
11 - The yummy yogurt I got from Red Mango with Olivia and Claudio! So yummy!!!

Those are the posts I would've posted, if my stinkin' camera was working!!!
