Little Wonders

The theme of today:  FAMILY! 

We got to attend baby Tavake's blessing today.  He looked so dapper in his blessing outfit.  Adrian and Jared are such loving parents and Adrian's message at the beginning brought most of the room to tears.  It was a joy to be there and share that moment with them.  PLUS, it was so good to see family and friends I rarley get to see these days.

Adding to the family theme: my cousin from Australia, Inoke came to visit with his beautiful wife, baby and niece.  My dad, who never cries, couldn't help himself when they walked in the door.  We had such a great time visiting with them, hearing stories of my dad from younger years and having the beautiful Sika family there. 

Last bit and then I'm done:  I've been watching the new show "Who do you think you are?" and it is so good!  We got to watch Sarah Jessica Parker research her family, she went from knowing nothing about her mom's side of the family to finding out that she had ancestors who were part of the California Gold Rush and the Salem Witch Trials.  It was moving and inspiring, I want to learn more about my dad's history and read stories about the people who blazed across this great nation on my mother's side.  Life may be what you make of it, but our history made it possible for us to be here.  I look forward to uncovering the stories of my families past.
