My Tribute to LOST!

Before I get into my thoughts about the finale of LOST, I wanted to post the pictures from our LOST night with Olivia & Claudio.  These two are so adorable with the palm tree decorations, black & white balloons, names carved on the wall and Dharma food!

We missed the big celebration with the Aguiar's Sunday night, so they had us over Monday for the encore.  It was the perfect ending to LOST.  Yikes, I was 24 when the show began (don't do the math), I remember that Alias had ended and there were a million previews for this new show by JJ Abrams.  Ha ha, I had no idea what I was getting myself into.

LOST became a link to others; friends (new & old), family and even strangers.  It was GREAT entertainment; suspense, love, comedy, joy and that title sequence sound could send a good chill up my spine.  It became weekly parties first with roommates & friends, then with the Aguiar's.  It was yearly season marathons with my family as the new DVD's came out.  It was a trip to Hawaii.

I always watched it a second time with my Mom, I would explain everything that was going on and repeat whatever she couldn't hear.  :)  So it's somewhat serendipidous that the show ends a week before she leaves for California.

A lot of people lost interest with the show as the questions compounded each week and that awful writers strike!  Boo!  I couldn't give up on the show though, I refused to believe that all of these questions wouldn't be answered.

The end has come and well, not all of my questions were answered.  But it's okay!  LOST ended beautifully.  Without going into detail, I'll simply say that though it took me watching the finale three times (once by myself, once with the Aguiar's and once with my Mom), I couldn't be happier with the outcome of LOST.  My heart is happy, I feel like I can close this chapter.  HAHA, I know some of you might be rolling your eyes and saying, "Ela it was just a show."  UGH, I know it sounds silly, but for me it's played a small part of my life over the last six years.  I still can't believe it has all ended!  On to bigger and better things I suppose, but I will always remember some of the GREAT times I've had with LOST

A Few of My LOST facts:
Favorite Male Characters - Hurley & Desmond & Charlie & Jin
Favorite Female Characters - Toss up between Rose & Penny & Sun
Favorite Episode - The Constant w/ Desmond & I must say the Series Finale.
LOVED all of the nicknames Sawyer had for people!
Thought that Kate whined too much (not only as her character, but the actress too).
If I had to choose between Sawyer or Jack, Sawyer would win!
Saddest death scene for me was when Sun & Jin died.
Will always have a soft spot for the song, "You All Everybody!"

*Note each LOST link will lead you to a different LOST page, blog, item, etc.  Have fun!

My LOST Adventure in Hawaii!

OOOO, I just watched tonight's show and it was SO good!  Now that I've been to the island, I can't help but pay more attention to the background.  Our LOST adventure started the night we arrived.  We followed a tip that the LOST crew was setting up to film near the airport.  Olivia and Claudio called their friend Cameron to meet us for our adventure.  We drove out to the airport only to find out from the security guard that the crew wouldn't be showing up till the next morning at 4:00 am.  So bright and early the next morning, we were sitting outside the fence, hoping that we would see one of the LOST stars.  We thought we saw Desmond and Jin, but then again we couldn't be sure.  Later that day we headed over to the LOST beach, it was breathtaking and the set was still set up:

After some fun at the beach we headed over to the OTHER'S Cabins.

As we drove around the island, we saw so many other LOST landmarks.  Like the tree where Kate had buried the tin box with the airplane inside.

We even saw Terry O'Quinn (Locke) at a Starbucks near the North Shore.  I didn't get a picture with him, but I saw him.  It was so amazing to see him in person!

I've been watching this show since the very first episode.  Almost six years of trying to figure the show out.  Six years of falling in and out of love with the characters and story line.  Some say I'm a fanatic, but really the show allowed a connection to friends that I may never have made without it.  It was more than a show, it was a weekly event that included, friends, food and fun. It seemed a fitting end to these six years to actually visit the island where all the magic happens. I'm sad to see it end, but I'm so thankful to Olivia and Claudio for inviting me on the LOST adventure and for being such amazing tour guides!

Questions Answered on LOST

Okay, so after three hours of LOST last night I was; thrilled that the new and last season has begun, slightly disappointed in the additional questions that emerged, and excited to finally get some answers to a few haunting questions!!! I won't tell you what the answer is, but I will tell you what questions we got answers to!

"What is the black smoke and jungle monster?"
"Why was there ash around Jacob's house?"
"What was in the guitar case that Hugo brought back to the island?"
"What happened to the survivors in the 70's when the bomb went off?"
"How does Miles talk to dead people?" (sort of)

Other than that, there were like 100 new questions. How are they ever going to answer all the questions by May 13th?

Can I just say, it was so lovely to see Boone, Charlie and Claire again!!

Here's a bit of Sawyer with NO SHIRT!!

Thank you so much Olivia and Claudio, for opening up your home to us! It was a GREAT night! (I didn't post the picture of the two of you eating, but next time we get together whatever I snap is fair game.) LOL!

LOST

Oh the LOST panic has begun. YES, I panic over this show. I don't think there has ever been a show that I watch so intently. I mean I seriously focus in on every tiny detail or fact that is said or implied and all of this sends me into a panic. I've been playing this Find Oceanic 815 that the producers of LOST have created to get us through to the season opener and I am addicted, I have my alarm set to when the new clue comes up so I can run to my computer and figure it out. It's insane, but OH SO GOOD!!!!! The new season starts January 31st and if you are a fan like me, you've already read the article in the Entertainment Weekly that implies that there may be some sort of time travel involved and that all next season we will be getting flash fowards instead of flash backs! HMMMM, something to think about!

Oh Lord, please let the writers end this strike and go back to work! I can't bear the thought of not having a full season! 8 episodes will NOT get me through another year!! IT JUST WON'T!!!!
